Underwater pile
inspection is one of Pilecap’s premier service capabilities.
Our diving and engineering staff has over 30 years
of experience inspecting piling, bridges, and piers.
We also employ Certified Underwater Bridge
Inspectors.
Focusing directly on piling helps us
streamline our operations. This gives you highly
specialized inspection reports compiled by experts
who confront your real piling problems. Inspecting
your piling underwater and in the splash zone can
drastically reduce major repairs in the future.
Pilecap can inspect piling made of any material
including wood, concrete, steel and h-pile.
Level 1:
General visual inspection to confirm as built
condition and detect any severe damage.
Level 2:
Close-up visual inspection to detect surface
defects normally obscured by marine growth. At
least 10% of the pile will be cleaned in
designated locations then inspected.
Level 3:
Highly detailed inspection to detect any hidden
and beginning damage. Nondestructive tests such
as increment boring and ultrasonics can be used.
