The Pilecoat System

Objective:
To provide a cost effective method of coating piling in the splash zone, above the waterline, and on overhead structures. Encapsulates old, hazardous coatings as an alternative to removal.

Background:
The Pilecoat System has been developed along with the Pilecoat coating to provide superior protection to an array of various materials subjected to harsh marine environments in a cost effective manner.

This procedure provides for minor structural repair and a proper surface preparation is easily obtained. Pilecoat coating can be used in the field on new or old piles, before or after they are driven.

General Procedures:
¨
Utilizing general construction methods, a dry environment is created below the water line so the coating can be applied.

¨A surface preparation can be achieved by waterblasting or sandblasting.

¨Minor repairs to the structure are made if necessary.

¨Pilecoat is sprayed on to prevent corrosion and other continuous deterioration to the pile.

¨The dry working area created by the Pilecoat system allows for many tasks to be accomplished:

¨Visual Inspections
¨Structural Repair
¨Proper Surface Preparation
¨Application of Pilecoat
¨Video of Any/All phases
¨Inspection through instrumentation

Features:
¨
Pilecoat is very durable and designed for the harsh marine environment.

¨Pilecoat forms one solid membrane adhering to and encapsulating your structure.

¨Pigments can be used to create any color along with Ultra Violet protection.

¨Pilecoat coating can be immediately exposed to the marine environment.

¨Works great on sheet pile!!
